What is Physical Therapy?
Physical Therapy is a licensed health profession dedicated to restoring and improving motion in people’s lives. Individual assessments and critical thinking is used to correlate the findings and develop a individualized treatment plan, assist restoration of health, achieve specific client goals and return clients to their desired lifestyle. Owoc PT provides wellness services within the Physical Therapy scope of practice.

What is Integrative Manual Therapy?
Integrative Manual Therapy (IMT) is an entirely non-invasive technique where the practitioners use their hands to facilitate the bodies instinctive intelligence of self correcting. IMT reaches your most superficial to the deepest layers your tissues. It is used to address the relationships between tissue structure and function throughout the body. IMT is beneficial for athletes and those who sit for long periods of time. IMT restores movement which allows return to our life's activities for a far-reaching whole-body wellbeing process.
What is MELT® or the MELT Method® ?
MELT® is a simple self-treatment technique using small balls and a soft roller that works by reconnecting & rebalancing your nervous system and rehydrating & releasing your connective tissue, which is all around your bones, muscles, joints, nerves and organs. You will learn how treating this tissue can improve your alignment, strength, and even your sleep. If you’re pregnant, injured, post-surgery, overweight, sedentary, or out of shape you can MELT®! If you have limited mobility, chronic pain, joint replacements, or bone disorders, you can still MELT®. It’s the best starting point for any exercise and wellness program. MELT® Performance uses the MELT® soft foam roller and resistance bands to help you reach your fitness goals and reduce your risk of injury through re-integrating and re-patterning your movement providing neuromuscular strength and establishing neurologic & joint stability.

When is Owoc Physical Therapy open?
Owoc Physical Therapy is open by appointment only. Linda has limited hours Monday and Wednesday within Bedford Bodyworks . To see Linda’s availability and class schedule click here and select the service or class.
How long are the visits?
Appointments are typically scheduled for one hour. Half hour appointments are also available. At your visits you and Linda will discuss your individual needs and establish an appropriate schedule for you.

How often will I need to come?
This will vary based on your individual needs, resources, and scheduling. Most clients are seen 1 time every week or every other week. In general more acute or severe injuries benefit from more frequent visits. More long standing issues typically change more slowly and can benefit from more time between sessions. As people improve we generally begin decreasing frequency of visits.

What should I wear?
Please wear or bring comfortable clothes that provide ease of movement, when you come for your initial assessment and future sessions. Athletic clothing in not required. Street clothes that do not restrict movement are helpful. Skirts and dresses may hinder your ability to move for a complete assessment and treatment. Treatment sessions are completed with patients fully clothed. However, it may be necessary to expose an area so that your therapist can apply treatment directly to the skin or view scars.

Is this Reiki?
No, this is not Reiki. Specific light fulcrums are applied to the tissues in the body offering an opportunity for change in pressures and tissue relationships. The specific pressures facilitate the body’s instinctive intelligence of self correcting, in this way IMT has energetic components to its work, but it is not Reiki.

How many patients are seen at one time?
Linda sees only one patient at a time for appointments. Your session is provided in a private room so that complete focus is on your individual needs. Group classes are limited to 10, and virtual only.
